I really don’t know whether it was a coincident or not, but as soon as I started reading an article on the famous shoe hurling events, a song named “walking in my shoes” by Depeche Mode started playing.
I could really picture the annoyed shoe hurlers after a long wait, thinking “Honorable Mr. X! Why don’t you try walking in my shoes?”, finally pass on one shoe literally. Probably it was the Sikh community which finally understood the sentiments of Mr. Jarnail Singh and rewarded him for representing the Sikh community in front of the whole nation.
In a country like India where we have freedom of expression, such events are becoming more frequent. I wonder how much the suppressed people of some other countries would love to participate in such activities. In relation to above, here are some business ideas:
1. Design games where you throw shoes or other such articles, and get good scores by causing more insults. Such virtual platforms would definitely be designed, keeping in mind the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). By giving a chance to let out frustration, you are definitely preventing more of such incidences. A great social service!
2. Glass sales are going to improve. Best quality glass will be used to design cabins for the celebrities, which will act as a transparent wall between the celebrity and the shoe. At least the embarrassment and the effort used in ducking for avoiding the shoe will be reduced.
3. For media people: Hire a person to hurl the shoe in some event, and be the first one to get live coverage, and exclusive interviews. Watch the TRP ratings touching sky.
4. Shoe-Designers are definitely going to have something in their kitty. The R&D Department of shoe manufacturers is working with rules of aerodynamics nowadays. The better the Flight, the will the shoe sell.
As far as my business is concerned, it was to see all my readers smile. I hope I am prospering at the moment.
